Claro Peru selects Starhome MACH to optimise network traffic

America Movil’s Peruvian operation Claro Peru has selected Starhome MACH’s Gateway Location Register (GLR) and Optimal Voicemail Deposit (OVMD) solutions.

These will give the operator real-time control and information on inbound roaming traffic to increase and protect its inbound market share and lower international signalling expenses.

Claro selected the Optimal Voicemail Deposit solution to enable voicemail service while roaming and avoid international tromboning. Tromboning is the additional signalling that occurs when roamers’ unanswered calls are diverted back to their home voicemail service. The solution improves the experience of both subscribers and callers and significantly reduces the cost of voicemail deposits that are currently either billed to the subscriber or absorbed by the operator.

John Asto, Carrier Relations Manager at Claro Peru explained, “Our goal as a global mobile operator is to provide our subscribers with the highest-quality roaming experience. Starhome MACH’s technology fits perfectly with our customer-centric approach by providing solutions that maximise revenues while effectively addressing our specific business and industry challenges.”
