Senegalese operator Expresso has delayed its launch of commercial 4G services due to the outbreak of Covid-19 (coronavirus).
Originally scheduled for 31st March, the launch has been postponed after Senegal’s government declared a state of emergency in the country. Expresso will now wait until the emergency is over to complete its launch preparations.
Thus far, preparations have included a nationwide modernisation programme across its 3G network. Expresso noted that it has upgraded 270 sites across Dakar, with coverage now available in 100% of the city.
The operator added that the upgrade offered subscribers “a new experience with high quality phone calls, a faster internet connection and improved indoor network coverage.”
