Armenian operator Ucom has claimed that its subscribers will now be able to access “much higher quality” mobile services following an extensive network upgrade.
Ucom’s Director General Ara Sergei Khachatryan said that after a “thorough analysis”, the operator had “eliminated” weak points in its 2G, 3G and 4G/4G+ infrastructure, although did not offer details on the exact nature of the work.
Khachatryan added that subscribers would “benefit from services with significantly improved quality”, noting that “the technical department of Ucom has been replenished with highly professional specialists, many of whom have extremely important experience and skills in working in foreign companies, in particular in the design and maintenance of complex networks.”
As a result of this, Khachatryan stated that “the power supply of the company’s data centre has been established, two independent UPS systems have been integrated, the cooling system of the data centre has been completely re-equipped, which will now allow us to gain additional time when carrying out technical work during emergencies.”
In the same statement, the operator noted that it was working on a similar overhaul of its fixed infrastructure.
