Sisteer Signs Full MVNO Agreement with Vivo in Brazil

The mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE) Sisteer has signed a full MVNO agreement with Telefonica’s Brazilian operation Vivo to operate as an MVNO using Vivo’s network.

The agreement is valid for five years and spans the mobile market at the nationwide level.

Sisteer first obtained its licence to operate as an ‘MVNO Autorizada’ in Brazil in March 2012 and now aims to launch its first MVNO operation in early 2014. Sisteer will be the sole firm to combine its core business as an MVNE/A in Brazil and B2C operations.

Brazil's mobile market is the sixth largest in the world and is home to more than one third of all mobile users in Latin America and the Caribbean. By January 2013, the market was composed of plus 261 million subscribers, more than 80% being pre-paid accounts.

“This groundbreaking agreement with Vivo enables us to bring all the compelling expertise, products and services of the Sisteer Group to Brazil,” says Alain Bureau, CEO, Sisteer Group.
