Vodafone and Datora launch Vodafone Brasil

Vodafone has entered into a Partner Market agreement with Latin American operator Datora Telecom to rebrand Datora’s mobile arm as Vodafone Brasil.

Datora Telecom will also work with Vodafone Group Enterprise to develop and offer machine-to-machine (M2M) products and services to business customers, with unified voice and data mobile communications services and advanced enterprise roaming propositions to follow in 2014.

Vodafone Partner Markets Chief Executive Ravinder Takkar said: “Our new Vodafone Brasil partner market relationship with Datora Telecom will help support the growing number of multinational companies looking to expand in Brazil. Around half of our 1,700 multinational customers already have employees based in the country: a trend which looks set to continue.”

“Firms in sectors as diverse as automotive, security, utilities, medical and finance are looking to adopt M2M and unified communications products and services to enhance productivity, and we are pleased to work with Datora Telecom to offer these transformative technologies in one of the world's major emerging economies."

Datora Telecom was the first Mobile Virtual Network Enabler in Brazil. In 2012, Datora Telecom established a dedicated M2M unit and has now installed more than 230,000 M2M connections on behalf of corporate customers.
