TOT hit with dtac repayment order

Thailand’s state-owned TOT has been given 60 days to pay dtac THB317 million ($10.3 million) in overdue interconnect fees.

The order from the country’s Central Administrative Court relates to charges accumulated between 1st January 2011 and 31st October 2011, with the total charge factoring in 7.5% interest per year between the case being filed and the payment being made.

TOT has a window of 30 days in which to appeal the decision. In June, the same court shot down an attempt by TOT to procure unpaid access charges from the three major Thai operators (AIS, dtac and True Move), on the grounds that such charges were now null due to the National Broadband and Telecommunications Commission’s interconnection notification.
