Brazil will confirm the date of its much-delayed 5G spectrum auction by 25th August.
Minister of Communications Fabio Faria announced the deadline for the sale, which was due to be held this month. The Federal Court of Accounts interjected on the grounds that it did not receive the requisite documentation from regulator Anatel (Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicacoes) until 25th June.
The court will now rule on the proposals of the notice in a meeting scheduled for 18th August. TeleGeography reports that the auction will see airwaves made available in the 700MHz, 2.3GHz and 3.5GHz bands, as well as 26GHz millimetre wave (mmWave) spectrum.
