Apple is reportedly ramping up iPhone production at five factories in India as part of its ongoing strategy to reduce reliance on China-based manufacturing.
According to Bloomberg, the company is shifting US-bound devices away from Chinese facilities, with all four iPhone 17 models now being assembled in India ahead of their expected launch next month.
Apple has accelerated efforts in recent years to diversify its supply chain, driven by US tariffs and government pressure to reduce dependence on China. Market research firm Canalys estimated that 76% of iPhones manufactured in India are shipped to the US in anticipation of potential trade restrictions.
The company has also pledged to invest more than US$600 billion into the US to strengthen domestic manufacturing.
