Lifecell introduces VoLTE and dual number offering in Ukraine

Ukraine’s Lifecell has launched VoLTE services that it plans to expand “in stages”.

While the service will not be available to all subscribers initially; when they are able to access the service, customers will be notified by SMS. Lifecell has confirmed that it plans to expand coverage to all subscribers with compatible devices, and that VoLTE calls will be charged at the same rate as regular mobile calls.

CommsUpdate reports that Lifecell has this week begun offering a new ‘Second Number’ service that allows customers to pay a monthly fee of UAH30 (USD1.05) for an additional mobile number on the same SIM card as their main number.

Lifecell describes the service as “convenient to use for the sale of goods on marketplaces, the establishment of temporary working contacts, social media accounts or new acquaintances” and notes that it can also “help maintain the confidentiality of the main phone number, because the interlocutors will see only the second number when talking or communicating via SMS and in messengers.”
