Middle Eastern data clearing house EDCH (Emirates Data Clearing House) has signed a partnership deal with Xintec to use its new fraud detection software.
The partnership will add significant value to EDCH’s global customers by providing protection from international revenue share fraud (IRSF), which last year cost the telecommunications industry over $10.7bn.
IRSF is a result of fraudulent use of international premium rate numbers (IPRN), which can generate huge, illegal revenue. This growth in fraud has been fuelled by an increase in the number agents that can resell IPRNs, which have increased by 480% in the past five years.
Xintec’s FraudStrike software is a specific package comprising a database of over 200,000 test-call numbers, and a set of detection techniques developed exclusively by Xintec to ensure early detection and prevention of IRSF incidents. The result is a major saving in revenue for operators across the globe who are struggling to keep pace with ever-evolving fraud threats.
Commenting on the partnership, Hani Ghibeh of EDCH, said: “EDCH customers can now benefit from FraudStrike’s unique fraud detection software, which offers major revenue savings and enhanced protection against unnecessary revenue losses. It is easy and quick to install and provides instant results, making it easily accessible for our customers.”
Rob Durran, general manager, Xintec, said: “Together we can offer them unrivalled protection against IRSF, but with none of the cost and resources required by more traditional fraud detection systems.”
