New Orange LiveNet business unit to market network APIs

Network APIs innovations are set to make a powerful impact at MWC2025, says Orange, whose Orange LiveNet division will present a comprehensive array of activities and demonstrations, showcasing cutting-edge solutions that redefine industry standards.

Orange LiveNet is in fact a new dedicated business unit aimed at marketing network APIs. This initiative is set to accelerate access to advanced network capabilities, providing developers and businesses with secure and efficient tools to create new customer experiences.

Orange LiveNet will focus on developing attractive offers that allow businesses to tap into advanced network functionalities through network APIs. By opening up its networks as commercial platforms, Orange says it is positioning itself as a leader in the API economy.

Network APIs serve as a gateway for developers to access real-time and secure connectivity solutions. This opens up a world of possibilities for creating innovative applications and services across various sectors. As Orange continues to expand its API offerings, it says the potential for enhanced customer experiences is immense.

Orange LiveNet is committed to supporting the CAMARA API catalogue, an open-source initiative backed by the Linux Foundation and the GSMA OpenGateway initiative. This collaboration involves 69 operator groups worldwide, emphasising the importance of interoperability and shared standards in the API landscape.

Developers can access Orange’s network APIs through the portal developer.orange.com and various partner channels. The new joint venture Aduna, formed by Ericsson and more than ten international operators, including Orange, will play a crucial role in this ecosystem.

The first commercial APIs introduced by Orange LiveNet include identity and anti-fraud APIs. Following these, geolocation and quality-on-demand (QoD) APIs will also be available.

By leveraging network APIs, businesses can innovate and deliver personalised experiences to their customers, ultimately transforming the digital landscape.

Demos at the Orange booth at MWC25 include Industry 4.0 Network APIs in action and a la carte home services with QoD. Demos at the GSMA booth include a fixed connectivity and mobile QoD demo, a France multi-operator anti-fraud demo and a Spain multi-operator anti-fraud demo.
