Vietnam’s Da Nang International Data Centre Joint Stock Company (JSC) has reportedly begun construction of what it says will be the city’s largest data centre in Da Nang Hi-tech Park, as well as signed several cooperation agreements with partners.
According to a report from news outlet Da Nang Today on Friday, the data centre site occupies two hectares of land. The building features a total floor area of 17,852 square metres, and will host up to 1,000 racks with a total capacity of 18.5MW.
The Tier III data centre is designed according to TIA-942C standards to support cloud computing and AI workloads, the report said.
Da Nang IDC said it will invest VND800 billion (US$31.2 million) for the first phase of the data centre, and an estimated VND1.2 trillion for the second phase.
Da Nang IDC also marked the launch of the data centre by signing cooperation agreements with partners for the project, including China Mobile International (Viet Nam), FPT International Telecom, the Da Nang branch of VNPT, the Thanh Xuan branch of Viet Nam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development (BIDV), and Smart Energy Management JSC, the report added. No further details were given.
The data centre is scheduled to be operational sometime between 2026 and 2027, reports the official Vietnam News Service.
