Cirion expands its data centre in Buenos Aires

Cirion Technologies, a leading provider of infrastructure and digital technology in Latin America, has announced the expansion of its data centre in Buenos Aires, known as BUE1, which, it says, is the most connected in the region.

The company says its expansion of the BUE1 data centre will allow it to add more than 2MW of capacity and approximately 160 additional racks. With this greater capacity, it will be able to accommodate more customers and provide the necessary energy for their intensive workloads, including those of AI.

In addition to Buenos Aires, Cirion has recently completed the expansion of its data centre complexes in São Paulo (SAO1), Rio de Janeiro (RIO1) and Quito (QUI2).

With 25 years of experience in seven Latin American countries, Cirion says it operates 12 main carrier-neutral data centres, with three under construction. There are also ten edge data centres.

A new data centre LIM2 (in Lima) began operations in April 2025. SAN2 in Santiago (SAN2) is expected to launch later this year. The company has begun the planning and pre-construction of a new data centre of more than 60MW in Rio de Janeiro (RIO2). All are designed to meet the growing demand for cloud services in the region.

Gabriel Del Campo, Vice President of Data Centres at Cirion Technologies, explains: "The new facilities under construction incorporate state-of-the-art technologies and are prepared to support AI-intensive loads, each with energy capacities greater than 20MW and with expansion potential.” explained. "In addition,” he says, “they operate with renewable energy.”
