Metfone and Cisco form distribution partnership in Cambodia

Viettel’s Cambodian subsidiary Metfone has reportedly signed a cooperation agreement with Cisco to distribute and deploy its ICT solutions to local enterprises as part of Metfone’s strategy to shift from traditional telco to tech solutions provider.

According to a statement from Cambodia’s Ministry of Information on Friday, the agreement calls for Metfone to distribute and provision Cisco's product and solution portfolio in Cambodia, as well as providing consulting, deployment and technical support services for Cisco customers.

Metfone will also develop a partner network and distribution channels to deliver Cisco products to customers across all provinces and cities.

Meanwhile, Cisco has committed to a programme to train Metfone personnel to international standards, including expert training and professional certification. Cisco will collaborate with Metfone on marketing programmes, market development and other initiatives to promote digital transformation.

The ministry said it expects the collaboration between Metfone and Cisco to create momentum for comprehensive digital transformation in Cambodia.

“Organisations, businesses and government ministries will have more choices of high-quality solutions, suitable for modernisation requirements, operational optimisation and sustainable development in an increasingly digitised economy,” the ministry said.

The deal also promises to be a key step forward for Metfone to upgrade its product ecosystem and be more competitive in the technology solutions market, the ministry said.
