Recharge service connects Europe with Latin America

An even greater number of mobile users in Latin America can now have their phones topped up by friends and relatives in Europe following the extension of a wide-reaching top-up service by one of the largest operators in the region. Telefonica will offer the service in partnership with recharge specialist ezetop, via the latter’s distribution network of over 117,000 shops.

The service will allow anyone in Europe - especially the Latin American immigrant community – to recharge their friends and family´s Movistar mobile phones in Latin America. ezetop provides mobile phone top up services to more than 211 mobile operators around the world including the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa and Asia, allowing Diaspora communities to support their loved ones at home in a very practical way- directly recharging their mobile phones.

Zurine Alvarez, Global Account Head at ezetop said: “We have been working together with the Telefónica teams in Madrid and Latin America for several years now to get the international recharges to be very successful. We are delighted to...allow not only the immigrant community in the US but also in Europe to recharge instantly Movistar mobiles phones across Latin America.”
