WFN Strategies has been contracted by Windward Telecom Ltd of Trinidad and Tobago to provide network planning and design services for the Trinidad Offshore Fibre Electronics (TOFFE) project. WFN Strategies will oversee the development of a network architecture which meets the needs of the offshore oil and gas industry operating in Trinidad and Tobago, as well as perform an initial cable route study.
Windward Telecom's TOFFE project will provide managed IP, Ethernet and leased line services to strategic oil and gas assets located off the coast of Trinidad and Tobago. Up to thirty offshore platforms owned by several major operators will receive secure and reliable communications services. The TOFFE network will permit extension to deeper water and will be capable of providing service to drilling platforms on an interim basis as well as permanent services to production platforms.
