Digital BSS firm Qvantel has opened two new operations, services and support centres in the Pakistani cities of Islamabad and Lahore.
This expansion has seen Qvantel hire over 100 local BSS professionals, and will allow the firm to provide local BSS expertise and managed services to Jazz, which leads the mobile market in Pakistan with over 73 million subscribers. The companies have a longstanding relationship, with Qvantel leveraging Jazz’s Cloud platform Garaj for co-location and hosting services at the centres to ensure scalable, secure, and locally hosted infrastructure for critical operations.
Part of the VEON Group, Jazz has expanded its offering beyond connectivity into digital products and services. By investing in emerging technologies, and expanding 4G coverage, Jazz is driving the digital economy in Pakistan to facilitate equal access to connectivity for all.
“We’ve been using Qvantel’s Digital BSS for years, and its agility has been a key driver in our leadership as Pakistan’s leading digital operator,” said Khalid Shehzad, Chief Technology Officer at Jazz. “The platform’s ability to consolidate multiple systems into one has greatly increased our operational efficiency and opened up new revenue streams.”
“Jazz is a textbook example of how to turn a digital operator strategy into a day-to-day reality that is empowering people with innovative digital services,” said Tero Kivisaari, President, Qvantel. “By opening these centres and hiring the best BSS experts in the country, we are strengthening our partnership with Jazz and are working closely with them to innovate and grow.”
