One Hungary will serve Direct One’s satellite TV subscribers from December following regulatory clearance for the acquisition of the platform’s Hungarian customer base.
The deal was originally signed in July 2024 by DIGI Telecommunications and Services, a subsidiary of 4iG. The company received approval from the Hungarian Competition Authority earlier this year. DIGI has since merged into One Hungary, allowing the operator to integrate Direct One’s satellite users once the transaction formally closes at the end of November. Direct One customers will become One Hungary subscribers from December 1.
One Hungary said in a statement, the move will significantly expand its TV footprint, adding a substantial number of satellite households to its portfolio as the operator continues to reposition itself in Hungary’s pay-TV market.
One Hungary said service continuity will not be affected, and customers will keep paying the same gross monthly fee after the transfer. Former Direct One users will be shifted to the One TV Medium package, which offers 99 channels including 18 in HD, with optional add-ons such as HBO and Cinemax available.
However, Direct One’s existing conditional e-Pack discount will be discontinued in its current form. Customers wishing to access One Hungary’s own e-Pack offer will be required to sign a new contract from December.
The operator noted that the transaction does not impact Direct One’s online TV subscribers, who will continue to receive service as usual.
Customers can access further information in One Hungary retail outlets, via the dedicated service change webpage, or through the company’s toll-free hotline.
