Aircom delivers network planning and optimisation for MTN Syria

MTN Syria's 2G and 3G networks coverage and capacity are set for enhancement as a result of a contract placed with Aircom International.

Aircom International, the network planning and optimisation consultancy, has signed a deal with MTN Syria to enhance the coverage and capacity of the latter's 2G and 3G networks. MTN Syria will implement a suite of integrated Aircom tools that will address and optimise radio frequency planning, drive test post processing and automatic cell planning (ACP) functionalities across its 2G and 3G networks.

Aircom will also automate and standardise MTN Syria's core network optimisation processes. The network operator will purchase new licences for Aircom's Asset radio planning tool, as well as integrating its Ranopt and Advantage solutions. By implementing these tools, MTN Syria will benefit from new network features and enhanced knowledge transfer, enabling it to sustain the high quality of service it delivers to subscribers.

"We are committed to delivering the best possible user experience to all our customers. Our partnership with Aircom underlines this commitment and reflects our determination to achieving constant improvements in network quality, said Maher Maarouf, CTO, MTN Syria. "Working with Aircom will ensure that we offer seamless and reliable mobile communications access to our customers, wherever they go."

"We're delighted to be working so closely with MTN Syria to safeguard the quality and reliability of its 2G and 3G networks," said Bashar Zako, Regional MD, MEI, Aircom International. "No other vendor was able to provide the necessary tools capable of automating the critical network optimisation processes vital to the ongoing performance of each network. The high quality of service delivered to subscribers by MTN Syria's 2G and 3G networks is a key differentiator that helps keep MTN ahead of the competition as it expands its footprint across Africa and the Middle East."
