RSG and Zain announce UCCS first in Saudi Arabia

Multi-project developer Red Sea Global (RSG), whose projects include what are described as 'regenerative tourism destinations' AMAALA and The Red Sea in Saudi Arabia, says it has unveiled the region’s first unified critical communication system (UCCS).

This system integrates three advanced solutions: push-to-talk (PTT), air-to-ground communication, and digital mobile radio (DMR) technology, offered in collaboration with operator Zain KSA. The partners say they will deliver cutting-edge tailored connectivity solutions and digital services to support the construction and development of RSG destinations.

This system integrates voice, video, geolocation, text messaging and more into a single, seamless network, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity from any location, while, RSG adds, maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity and data protection.

Fahad Sahmi AlSahma, acting chief business and wholesale officer at Zain KSA, sums up the unified internal communication system as one that “will streamline communication across air, land and sea and enhance project development efficiency while ensuring data security”.

This is far from the first partnership between Zain and RSG. In 2023 we reported that the two companies had unveiled what they call the world's first zero-carbon 5G network at the Six Senses Southern Dunes resort at The Red Sea Project on the west coast of Saudi Arabia.

Red Sea Global is a closed joint-stock company wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia. It is a vertically integrated real estate developer with a diverse portfolio across tourism, residential, experiences, infrastructure, transport, healthcare and services.

This portfolio includes The Red Sea, which began welcoming guests in 2023, and AMAALA, which should welcome guests in 2025. A third destination, Thuwal Private Retreat, will open this year. RSG is also carrying out refurbishment works at Al Wajh Airport in Tabuk Province located along the northwestern coast of the country.
