MoU targets UAE wireless infrastructure market

Wireless solutions company Comba Telecom Limited, and Nedaa Professional Communication Corporation, a provider of mission-critical communications and secure technology platforms, have announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic collaboration aimed at advancing next-generation telecommunications solutions in the UAE and beyond.

Comba is a wireless solutions provider with its own R&D facilities, manufacturing base, and sales and service teams. Nedaa was established by government decree in 2008. Since that time, Nedaa has been the sole and exclusive security network provider for the Government of Dubai.

Nedaa’s services are tied up with the Dubai Government’s Strategic Plan – particularly efforts to set up contingency plans and potential scenarios for crises and catastrophes.

The companies explain that the agreement outlines a comprehensive framework for cooperation in the development, deployment and integration of innovative wireless infrastructure. This collaboration will target enterprise and smart city environments.

Key areas of focus include indoor and outdoor coverage enhancement, mission-critical communications technologies, high security networking solutions, gigabit throughput wireless connectivity and the adoption of open and interoperable 5G radio access networks based on Comba’s 5G private network solutions to support future-proof telecommunications infrastructure.

Through this partnership, Comba and Nedaa say they will leverage their complementary expertise to co-develop solutions that address the UAE’s evolving connectivity requirements.

They add that Comba’s extensive experience in designing and deploying advanced radio access networks, combined with Nedaa’s leadership in secure communications and mission-critical technology platforms, positions the collaboration to deliver high-impact, scalable solutions for both public and private sector clients.

The partnership also aligns with the UAE’s broader objectives to enhance digital infrastructure, accelerate smart city initiatives, and strengthen national resilience in telecommunications.

Both organisations will initially focus on pilot projects to validate new solutions, with plans to expand into larger-scale deployments as the collaboration progresses. Specific initiatives, timelines and technical milestones have not yet been shared but will be outlined in future announcements.
