There’s a new mobile operator in Kazakhstan. Jýsan Bank, a major Kazakh bank founded in 1992, and Mobile Telecom Service, the third-largest mobile operator in the country, are to launch Jýsan Mobile Communications, an MVNO with a strong focus on banking products and services.
The Jýsan MVNO plans to use the Tele2/Altel network (both Tele2 and Altel are Mobile Telecom Service brands) which, Jýsan says, provides broad, high-quality coverage, specifically in 4G, all over Kazakhstan, allowing reliable operation of the new MVNO's services.
A unified pricing plan – 3,300 Tenge (or $7.65) for 30 days – is applicable to all subscribers. Minutes, traffic and SMS messages can be exchanged between subscribers for free. Subscribers using the pricing plan can make unlimited calls within the Jýsan Mobile network and enjoy unlimited access to WhatsApp. Additional packages, with extra minutes and extra internet traffic as well as international roaming, are available.
Data usage will not be affected when using the Jýsan mobile application or the bank’s resources. A number of other bonuses apply linked to bank card use, top-ups and use of the Jmart marketplace, an online marketplace that allows customers to choose and buy a wide variety of attractively priced products.
Becoming a Jýsan Mobile subscriber involves the relatively simple business of installing a Jýsan mobile application and ordering a Jýsan Pay card. A courier will deliver the payment card and a SIM card to the subscriber’s address.
A major selling point, of course, will be that Jýsan Mobile will be tightly integrated with Jýsan Bank products and services. Clients will be able to manage financial services and mobile communications, take out insurance, buy shares, or purchase goods and services from the Jmart marketplace through the same Jýsan application.
