LMT and Tele2 bag 5G spectrum in Latvia

Latvia’s Public Utilities Commission (SPRK / Sabiedrisko Pakalpojumu Regulesanas Komisija) has issued permits for 5G-ready spectrum to LMT (Latvijas Mobilais Telefons) and Tele2 Latvia following last month’s auction.

CommsUpdate notes that the bidding saw spectrum in the 3750MHz-3800MHz range on the block, with LMT obtaining frequencies at 3750MHz-3775MHz and Tele2 claiming 3775MHz-3800MHz. Both operators won their spectrum holdings with bids of EUR275,000.

The licences are valid for a 20-year period between 1st January 2024 and 31st December 2043. While the bidding was concluded in October, the regulator reviews all auction results prior to making them public.
