Ericsson expands presence in Vietnam with new Hanoi office

Ericsson has opened a new base of operations in Vietnam, underscoring the country’s growth potential as it undergoes rapid digital transformation.

The new office, located in the capital Hanoi, will showcase how Ericsson’s own-developed B2B solutions can run office equipment and IT software through 5G connectivity instead of WiFi.

The Swedish vendor has operated in Vietnam for 32 years, providing technology across multiple generations of mobile networks from 2G onwards. Today, it supplies Vietnam’s three largest operators – Viettel, VNPT, and Mobifone – with 5G equipment and software.

Vietnam is on track to become a high-income digital economy, with government ambitions for the digital sector to contribute up to 30% of GDP over the next five years. Key areas driving this growth include manufacturing, healthcare, and smart cities.

Ericsson Vietnam President Rita Mokbel said the government’s legal reforms and R&D support have enabled the company to strengthen its local presence.

“As Vietnam moves rapidly toward its vision of becoming a high-income digital economy, we look forward to continuing our role as a trusted partner, supporting the country’s digital transformation and sustainable growth,” she added.
