Sahel Telecom, a new wireless broadband provider, has launched services in Mauritania.
The ISP’s offering will initially be available in parts of the country’s capital city Nouakchott, according to CommsUpdate. Agence Ecofin reports that the provider plans to expand its services to other Mauritanian cities across the next few months.
Currently, Moov Mauritel is the dominant player in Mauritania’s fixed broadband market. The firm is majority owned by the country’s government, although Maroc Telecom also holds a minority stake.
