LATAM Airlines, a leading airline group in Latin America, with a presence in five domestic markets in the region – Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru – in addition to international operations within Latin America and to Europe, Oceania, Africa, the US and the Caribbean, has announced the launch of its own global travel eSIM.
LATAM Airlines says the new eSIM is powered by Gigs, an operating system for mobile services that empowers tech companies to seamlessly embed connectivity into their offerings in weeks. The company says this means it has become the first airline in Latin America to embed mobile connectivity directly into its product suite.
The new travel eSIM offers secure, seamlessly integrated mobile data – ranging from 1 to 10GB – across regional and global destinations. The service is available directly through LATAM’s website. The company says deeper product integrations are to follow in the coming months.
Not only does the offer of its own branded travel eSIM differentiate the airline from generic travel eSIM marketplaces, as well as local providers but, it points out, the eSIM offers its travellers competitively priced, seamless connectivity, eliminating hefty roaming fees and the hassle of finding Wi-Fi.
eSIM LATAM is fully embedded in the LATAM ecosystem, allowing travellers to purchase an eSIM in just a few taps.
Customers also earn LATAM Pass Miles with every purchase through the LATAM Pass benefits programme, adding value throughout their journey. Miles accumulated in the LATAM Pass program can be redeemed for airline tickets or products.
