5G to reach new heights in Bahrain

Bahraini operator VIVA Bahrain has not only announced the launch of its home broadband 5G network, VIVA 5G, but is helping to bring 5G to a new 46-storey building.

VIVA Bahrain offers its 5G home broadband with state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor routers, providing an enhanced streaming and gaming experience. Customers can subscribe to the 5G network as an add-on to their home broadband package.

VIVA Bahrain was the first operator in Bahrain to commercially pilot 5G back in June 2018, with a major showcase in Bahrain City Centre. Now, however, another project may soon see 5G reach new heights in the kingdom after VIVA Bahrain and real estate operator Al-Tijaria Bahrain announced a strategic partnership that will include the deployment of the telecom operator’s ICT solutions and infrastructure in Al-Tijaria Bahrain’s Symphony Tower project.

VIVA Bahrain will be equipping the 46-storey Symphony Tower – situated in the Diplomatic Area – with advanced mobile coverage solutions, including gigabit passive optical fibre networks, enabling residents to subscribe to advanced and high-speed broadband services. Symphony Tower will in fact be the kingdom’s first residential building to support the evolution of 5G through Huawei’s in-building LampSite solution, which, says VIVA Bahrain, boasts ultra-fast user experience, easy management and the best indoor experience.

Symphony Tower, scheduled to be completed in the last quarter of 2019, will feature 351 freehold apartments and a variety of amenities, including a six-floor car park with a total of 468 parking slots, with dedicated floors for a fitness centre and swimming pools – and, of course, VIVA ICT solutions and infrastructure.
