Bahrain Telecom offers DDoS protection to business customers

Bahrain Telecom (Batelco) has announced it will offer cloud based DDoS protection services to business customers to protect customers' websites from DDoS attacks.

The service is the result of a partnership with Canadian cloud based DDoS mitigation specialist DOSarrest. Founded in 2007 the company is one of only a handful of companies worldwide  specialising in cloud based DDoS protection services.

"The DDoS mitigation solution from DOSarrest is designed to protect customers’ networks against any malicious attempts by containing the harm of such attacks, thus ensuring the operational status of the organisation" said Adel Daylami, Batelco Enterprise General Manager. "The introduction of this service... is an answer to the increased threats in cyber space, as cyber-attacks have become a major security concern for organisations of all sizes."

Batelco realised the threat of DDoS attacks on their customer base and set out to explore the various options available for their business customers’ enterprise websites. After evaluating available options it chose the fully managed DDoS Protection service offered by DOSarrest Internet Security.  The service will be offered to business customers as part of Batelco's cloud portfolio.

Headquartered in Bahrain, Batelco is the leading integrated communications’ provider in the country and has direct and indirect investments in an increasing number of emerging markets including Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Egypt, Maldives, Diego Garcia, St. Helena, Ascension Islands and Falkland Islands.
