Indosat debuts super-fast 4G in Indonesia

Indosat has launched Indonesia’s fastest LTE service, “SUPER 4G-LTE” offering speeds of up to 185Mbps.

This marks the completion of the company’s network modernisation network program in 23 cities nationwide, boosting quality of connection and mobile surfing speeds for its customers.

“As the internet becomes an ever-more important part of Indonesia’s daily life we see users craving a faster, higher quality service. This development allows Indonesians to enjoy the very latest telecommunication technology available in the world, providing the fastest speeds and stable data service to support all types of communication activities with increased ease, pace and convenience”, said Indosat’s President Director & CEO, Alexander Rusli.

Indosat’s digital services strategy includes significant investment to support a growing app ecosystem and is dedicated to offering mobile finance, education and e-commerce services.  To continue enhancing Indonesia’s tech ecosystem, Indosat is dynamically encouraging the growth of the local content industry through its young developer’s incubation programs, either via IWIC competitions or the Ideabox incubation program.

Dr Nasser Marafih, Group CEO, Ooredoo commented: “Customer experience is really important to us, across all of the markets that we operate in and this development means that our Indonesian customers can enjoy the best experience through access to cutting edge technologies, faster browsing speeds and stronger connections.  This is particularly important due to the potential social and economic benefits associated with faster, more reliable mobile broadband.”
