Indosat and Cisco launch sovereign SOC with added Splunk

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison and Cisco launched a sovereign security operations centre (SOC) for Indonesia on Wednesday that they say also marks the first deployment of Splunk Cloud Platform and Splunk Enterprise Security in the country.

Via the Splunk platform and Cisco’s managed security services, the SOC promises real-time, AI-powered threat detection and observability across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Indosat said the sovereign SOC is designed for enterprises and government agencies of all sizes from multinationals to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Indosat also said the platform ensures that sensitive national data remains protected under Indonesian jurisdiction, enabling customers to detect and respond to threats faster, while ensuring compliance with data sovereignty regulations, especially as the country aims to establish itself as a major AI innovation hub in Southeast Asia.

The launch of the sovereign SOC comes five months after Indosat’s enterprise arm Lintasarta and Cisco signed a partnership deal to enhance cybersecurity for enterprises in Indonesia. That deal included a commitment by both companies to provide digital and cybersecurity skills training via Cisco’s Networking Academy to close the widening skills gap in the country.

Indosat and Cisco said they plan to train one million Indonesians in cybersecurity and networking by 2030. The SOC will serve as a training ground for Cyber Resilience Labs, hosting real-world simulations, industry training and national readiness programs.

“Everything that is connected must be protected,” said Indosat president Director and CEO Vikram Sinha in a statement. “This sovereign SOC is about protecting our infrastructure, empowering our people, and securing the digital economy at scale.”
