Bangla Trac selects Veraz I-Gate 4000 PRO bandwidth for optimisation

Veraz Networks, which specialises in Multimedia Generation Network application and control as well as in bandwidth optimisation products, has been commissioned by Bangla Trac Communications to deploy its I-Gate 4000 PRO high-density bandwidth optimisation system to interconnect sites in London, Hong Kong and Dhaka. Bangla Trac is a new entrant in the Bangladeshi telecom market and provides international gateway services.

Advanced voice and signalling compression technology from Veraz will enable the I-Gate 4000 family of bandwidth optimisation systems to provide high compression rates without sacrificing voice quality. The I-Gate 4000 PRO supports both TDM and IP transmission infrastructure and can be used in static trunking and switched applications.

"Veraz's I-Gate 4000 PRO provides Bangla Trac with a flexible platform for interconnecting our international PoPs," said Nazim Haque, Chairman of Bangla Trac Communications. "The high compression rates achievable with the I-Gate 4000 PRO enable Bangla Trac to offer high quality voice services while minimising the cost of our network."

* Bangla Trac Communications Limited is a licensed International Gateway Service Provider in Bangladesh. The company was awarded the licence for the international gateway through a competitive auction in February 2008. The licence enables Bangla Trac to act as one of the four licensed operators who can route incoming and outgoing international calls to and from Bangladesh. The licence further stipulates that each of the operators is guaranteed at least 20% of the outgoing calls from Bangladesh and the potential to capture the outstanding 20%. Bangla Trac Communications Limited is committed to become the Bangladeshi gateway of choice for major carriers globally.
