A Slovakian subsidiary of the Enel Group is enhancing the communications and emergency broadcast system at its nuclear power plant in Mochovce, Slovakia. To help ensure the well-being of workers and residents in the area, Slovenské Elektrárne has selected Alcatel-Lucent to upgrade the system. Once complete, the new system will facilitate communication amongst the workforce at the site, the two new nuclear power units as well as communication with people in the surrounding districts in the event of an emergency.
Under the agreement Alcatel-Lucent will integrate its Internet-Protocol based phone system for businesses together with products and solutions from other industry experts to deliver a complete system, during construction of the two new nuclear power units.
The end-to-end integrated system will include the provision of Alcatel-Lucent’s OmniPCX Enterprise the IP telephony solution, providing multimedia communications, together with partners’ equipment including emergency broadcast system over cable, a dispatching system, synchronized time system and data and wireless network, to ensure efficient daily power monitoring, measurement and distribution.
